AMARO MIO PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lorenzo Inga, belongs to the fifth generation of the Inga Family, premium grappas and liqueurs producers since 1832.
The family carries one of the oldest and most selected book recipes written by hands by Lorenzo’s great grandfather Gaetano Inga, from Noto, Sicily, where the family had properties and distilling firms specialized in the preparation of Marsala and various cordials since 1900.
Gaetano, at the beginning of 1900, had come across in an ancient booklet recipe showing the formula of an herbs elixir prepared by a capucine monk called Stanislao, who had elaborated this herbal liqueur to fight dramatic cholera epidemies blown up in India in the past centuries (1650-1700).
This delicious herbal liqueur is made artisanally by the mix infusion of more than 20 different herbs, roots and tree barks in pure alcohol and water.
The infusion is carried for over 45 days and after that period, we get an aromatic concentrated infusion, spreading marvellous perfumes and scents, whose dilution must be done before bottling the final product.
The great and unique feature of Amaro Mio herbal liqueur is the perfect marriage of the whole ingredients whose contents are balanced and not prevailing, giving to the product an unique mellow taste.
When tasting Amaro Mio you can recall hints of bitter oranges, mint, flowers, rhubarb and…other secret ingredients very hard to discover!
Amaro Mio is a delicious digestif cordial to be mostly drunk straight on after the meals: however, it is fantastic as an aperitif on the rocks, or poured into espresso or over vanilla ice cream.
